As told by Kailynn M
I fostered a 10 year old senior girl who hadn’t been properly cared for by her previous owner for quite some time. Her shelter name was Pretty Girl and she is the prettiest girl! After fostering her for a month or so, she was scheduled to have spay surgery and have a couple of mammary masses removed. The results of the biopsied mammary masses revealed that Pretty Girl had stage 3 high grade mammary carcinoma and approximately 6-8 months to live.
This was devastating news but it made me realize that Pretty Girl was where she was supposed to be all this time. Pretty Girl became a foster fail shortly after her diagnosis and she has been living her best life ever since.
I made a bucket list for the two of us to complete together so she could experience new things with the time that she has left. We completed the bucket list and it has been 15 months since her original diagnosis.
She is the most stylish and spunky girl! Her name is now Pippa and her favorite treat is a pup cup! Pippa was fostered and adopted via BARCS. Thank you!
