Qualified Charitable Distribution

If you’re looking for a “Tax-Wise” giving strategy during the holiday giving season … did you know if you’re 70 ½ years or older, you can make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) from your IRA directly to House with a Heart? You may use this gift to satisfy the required minimum distribution from your IRA while reducing your taxable income, even if you don’t itemize.

Here’s how it works:

An individual may transfer up to a total of $100,000 per year and a married couple may give up to $200,000.

Your gift must be transferred directly from the IRA account to House With a Heart.

Your gift is a transfer of funds from your IRA to House With a Heart, so it does not create taxable income for you and is not considered a charitable tax deduction.

The transfer of funds counts towards your annual Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from your IRA.

Please consult your tax advisor for additional information. You can also visit this page on our web site: https://housewithaheart.com/donation-using-your-rmd/

The address to send your donation to is: House with a Heart is 6409 Stream Valley Way, Gaithersburg,  MD 20882

We’re so grateful for every donation made to our Sanctuary.  Thanks to YOU, we can continue to provide a “helping hand” to senior pups and kitties!
