About Special Projects
From time to time, we find we have some special projects that we would like to share with our friends and supporters.
They may include a special setup or accommodation for one of our senior or special needs residents. It may be more general like a covered area to go out in the rain or snow. We have added lights to outside areas for safety and Eco-friendly grass to avoid dirt and pebbles for the senior feet.
Currently we have two special projects:
Outdoor Emergency Shelter: We are getting estimates to upgrade our existing shed so it will be more weather proof, and have a battery operated generator so we could have heat or a fan if needed.
We already have an estimate of $3,000.00 to add a roof to the outside framework that covers one of our Eco-friendly grass yards. We usually cover the framework that the Eagle Scouts built for us with a tarp for the summer. That offers shade so the grass doesn’t become too hot and the pups can even go under it if it is a gentle rain. Having the roof added will mean we will be able to use that space all year round and our tarp that is getting a bit ragged and has to be put up and taken down will be a thing of the past. This will be a wonderful way to improve the lives of our residents and visiting pups.
