Today was a very sad one at the Sanctuary. We bid farewell to one of our little loves. That heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to one of our beloved residents had to be made. And we did what we had to do.
Little Peanut had been in the throes of kidney failure and recently spent several days at the emergency hospital in the hope that his condition would improve. We knew there was no cure, but maybe, just maybe, we could give him more time. Tragically, after a short respite, Peanut again let us know he was feeling very poorly. We knew it was time to let him go.
Peanut was always the Sanctuary clown. Ever since this adorable Yorkie and his late sister, Mouchie, came to live at HWAH, Peanut entertained everyone with his hilarious antics. He didn’t believe in napping when there were so many fun things to do! As he grew older, Peanut slowed down a bit. But you just had to look in his eyes and you’d see that mischievous puppy-like twinkle!
Rest well little guy. You will always be in our hearts. Your friends and family at House with a Heart will continue to smile when they think of you, and know how privileged we were to care for and love you.
