Toby – 🌈.Over the Rainbow Bridge🌈. – May 20th

It’s an incredibly sad night at House with a Heart. We decided to let our precious Toby cross the rainbow bridge in peace today. Our hearts are shattered as we share this news. Toby’s little body has been physically declining for the past few months, and began rapidly declining during these past few days. He was no longer himself and his body could not handle it anymore.

His last day on this earth was a good day. He was on as much pain medication as we could give him so he was very relaxed. All of the HWAH Team gave him so much love today. Sher, Susan, Karen, Jill, Kathy, Lori, and Klee gave him some kisses, snuggles, pets, and kind words. Klee and Lori were with him at the end and fed him a McDonald’s hamburger and he loved it. Then, he swiftly crossed to the other side.

Our Toby had been with us since early 2020, when he was 11 years old. He passed away at 17 today and we think that his age was quite a feat! He lived an amazing life with us full of love and we’re going to miss his silly self. He loved to run and play with the other residents, he absolutely LOVED dinner time and did not hesitate to let us know, he enjoyed getting his face rubbed, only liked to eat his food from a cutting board, and he used to love cleaning other residents’ ears. He had such a bold personality and we loved him for it. And if you knew Toby, you know that he hated thunderstorms… we’re glad that he crossed the rainbow bridge while it was still beautiful and sunny outside.

Goodbye Tobylicious, we’ll never forget you 💛🌈.

(And our deepest condolences to Toby’s mom and benefactor, Rebecca, who supported Toby all of these years💗)
