This is a recent Medical Miracles Grant story from our newest rescue partner, Reed’s Rescue.
Meet Joya the pajama princess. Joya is a calm dog that loves people and kids. She is OK with cats and dogs and has low energy. She is 13 years old and weighs 50 lbs. She is a beautiful pit bull mix that will love you forever. Joya is black and white and adores her dress-up clothes and pajamas. She is healthy and needs to be spayed. She is trained and calmer than a puppy. She is house-trained and will not bark all the time. Please help this dog find furever home!
Background:
Joya came from BARCS. We don’t know backstory. It is clear she was over bred. When she came to us her toes were splayed and her spine was arched as if she had been confined in a to small space for an extended amount of time. She has pink pressure marks all over her legs and elbows. Her skin issues are mostly cleared. She has a lick granular on her right paw. We think is is an obsessive behavior. Every time is starts to heal, she tears it up again. She wears a soft cone most of the time to prevent licking.
Her foster mom takes it off for walks and sometimes for a break. She has some rimadyl for arthritis pain as needed. She is very good with her foster siblings and loves her walks. She has been good with all people and animals.
Age: 13 years old
