How Frosty came to Maryland:
“Then we get days like the day we pulled sweet senior boy FROSTY from a shelter in NC. We were not told much about this little boys health issues except he probably needed a dental ( don’t they all) and his eyesight wasn’t great. We immediately jumped into action getting him a much needed dental with extractions to get rid of his pain.
Several days later we had to rush him back to the vet only to discover that after doing xrays for kidney stones, it was discovered that this sweet little boy, at some time in his life, had suffered a huge trauma to his little body. Whether he was hit by a car or badly abused, we don’t know. It was discovered that not only was his heart in his chest cavity, but so were his lungs & intestines too! In fact, according to our vet, he should never have survived the anesthesia with his dental! It seems that the only reason he did, was that this huge trauma must have occurred quite a long time ago & his muscle had grown back making it extremely dangerous to try to operate to put his organs back where they should belong at this late stage.
As if this poor little soul hadn’t been through enough, it was suggested by the eye Dr he saw that BOTH eyes be removed to save him from experiencing further pain.
ADOPTION DAY: A very happy Adoption day to FROSTY, our little blind boy who has been through so very much to start his new life. His new Momma will give him all the cuddles and love he needs. He even has a senior standard poodle friend at home to snuggle with.
HWAH provided a $ 1,246.14 grant towards his initial tooth extractions. We provided a second grant of $ 1017.30 to help with his second eye surgery.
Thanks to YOUR generosity, our HWAH K-9 & Kitty Medical Miracles Fund was able to help Frosty get the medical care he desperately needed To learn more about our Medical Miracles Fund or DONATE, visit: https://housewithaheart.com/about-k9-medical-miracles/
