GRANT RECIPIENT – Thumbelina – Forgotten Felines and Fidos, Inc. (FFF)
Thumbelina and her siblings and stray mom cat had been on someone’s porch for two months before being rescued. The kittens went to a foster home and were all adopted quickly, except Thumbelina.
Thumbelina was the tiniest of her litter and as she was examined during her veterinarian check, she was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal and aural polyps in both ears. Unfortunately, her ear polyps were growing too deep to completely remove, and despite a lengthy course of steroids to attempt to shrink and resolve the polyps, her eardrums remained abnormal. Thumbelina needed Ventral Bulla Osteotomy surgery, where the middle ear is surgically opened to remove infected tissue, polyps, tumors, or foreign bodies. This surgery is necessary to help alleviate the discomfort and long-term health issues that Thumbelina could endure if not treated.
Thumbelina has recovered nicely and found her forever family!! We know this sweet girl will have a wonderful and LONG life!!
Thanks to YOUR generosity, our HWAH K-9 & Kitty Medical Miracles Fund was able to help little Thumbelina get the medical care she desperately needed.
