“I spent a lot of the last 90 days snuggling in the evenings with Frank, our hospice foster who came to us with prostate cancer and dementia and given up by his family at age 14. He was the toughest foster I’ve ever had but also the most rewarding.
He didn’t get the memo on not biting the hand that feeds you, he had accidents and basically lived in the kitchen where there were no rugs, he was cantankerous. But in the evenings he would just unwind and want to be held.
So that’s what we did every night for the last 3 months. Today he was set free once and for all and I’m so happy he can run again and is pain free.
Thank you to the wonderful organization who brought him to us @LittlePawsDachshundRescue and his previous foster mom @stephcocchiara (UHa alum and fellow doxie lover) and drove three hours just to say goodbye.
Special thanks to Leah Holistic Home Veterinary Services LLC for letting Frank have a peaceful passing at home.
