🎁 It’s Day 8 of our “12 Days of Christmas” series, and today we highlight our very special pup Daisy!
Daisy came to HWAH when her owners moved to a retirement village and could not take her. They left Daisy with a friend so she could re-home her. During a visit from a potential adopter, something scared Daisy, and she bolted. A good Samaritan found Daisy and called HWAH, knowing that we handle senior and special needs, but hoping we would consider helping this terrified young pup. Even though Daisy is a youngster, we felt compelled to help. We intended to re-home her, but we noticed she was very fearful of everything. Message from Lori Whitehurst, HWAH’s Assistant Director: “I had lost my heart dog three months prior and didn’t think I was ready for another dog, but Daisy spoke to me. I decided my husband and I would be her new family and make her feel safe. Daisy is now happy and thriving! My husband takes her for walks every day, and she loves her new home and will never be discarded again!
