Good Fortune & Dedication – Lori
We want to share the story of how Lori (our assistant director), came to be a most valued member of the “Love Lives Here” team
“I am grateful every day for the good fortune that brought Lori to House with a Heart. She started off as a volunteer working in the Kennel as a Kennel Assistant. She was very dedicated and really showed how much she cared about the visiting dogs and the residents, so I began to lean on her more and more.
She has added so many tasks to her list of things to do for HWAH that now she is our Assistant Director. No matter what the need she is there to answer the call for help, Fundraising, Foster program, Grant program, Visitation program, Facebook posting…. We email often every day and Lori has become a part of the fabric of my life and the running of House with a Heart…. Lori is the embodiment of “Love Lives Here”!!!” (from Sher our Director)
Lori and hubby John (also a valued HWAH team member) are currently proud Forever Fosters to two beautiful “Pups”, Daisy and Heidi.
About Daisy:
“Daisy came into my life expectantly. I’ve fostered several senior pups for House with a Heart, and had just recently lost my Heart pup Poppy. I was taking a break. But Daisy showed up and she so needed a safe place to land. To this day, she is the best therapy I could have ever asked for. She is so incredibly loving and is my shadow. Never will she ever feel the need to run away again…”
About Heidi:
She is currently staying with Lori and John as a temporary foster. “Heidi (brown) loves hanging with her big sis. Hoping in 1 month her status will be ours permanently.”
