Kash has crossed the Rainbow Bridge

Kash, the Sanctuary’s beloved horse, has passed away at 38 years old.  Our hearts are broken and he will be truly missed.  Sher wrote this memorial to him:

Kash went out to the pasture last night as usual with all of his friends and during the night he passed away. They think he just died of old age or a heart attack as he had no serious health issues…. He was just an old fella at 38!!!

I rescued him in Florida when he was about 3 years old. He has been boarded at Taylormade Farm for the past 10 years and lovingly cared for by Kathy Taylor and her staff.
He was a calm and kind horse and loved treats and to drink a soda from the can. I could ask him if he wanted a treat and he would shake his head yes. He would bury his face under my arm and snuggle up close while I rubbed his ears. Before I became tied down and housebound with HWAH I spent lots of time with him. It was 12 minutes from our door to his door and spending time with him was a bit of heaven.

It was good to know that he was in such good hands with the Taylors and I feel like we gave him a good life. A good LONG life!! Kathy is going to arrange to plant a tree in his Honor and put a Memorial plaque in front of the tree.
