Cookie is just one story among many!!!
Cookie is a sweet 10 year old senior dog. She is a bit shy and very timid but calm. She weighs about 25 pounds and is not spayed. Her Owners cannot afford the Vet care that she so desperately needs, and they want better for her.
Cookie has an abdominal mass, a growth on her skin and her eyes will make you cry!!! Her eyes are leaking a green pus-like substance…and if you reach for her she flinches – afraid that your hand will cause her more pain.
She is the personification of what the Medical Miracle Fund is all about. Miss COOKIE!!!!
Cookie had worms and fleas…. at least that yukky stuff was quickly taken care of. She also has dry eye which was causing her to have a terrible discharge, her ears are infected, she has a mass on her spleen that we hope is benign, she has some small mammary tumors and she needs to be spayed. So this old soul needs some “work done” and I am incredibly grateful and in awe of the ladies at LovePaws who opened up their arms to take in this pup who has so many problems.
Let me just say here that it is wonderful to be able to take in and rescue the cute and cuddly and easily adopted critters and I am glad rescues can do that – but there is a special place of Honor for those who welcome the old, the disabled, the ones who are falling apart and who work with such love and care and dedication to give those special cases the respect and hope they so desperately need.
