Murphy

And now a few words about Murphy:

Murphy is 11 years young and weighs about 8 pounds. He is a specially-able happy, friendly dog.

Murphy has severe deformities with his back knees that cannot be repaired. He needs to be on joint supplements and pain medications for the rest of his life.  Murphy gets around well. He even sprints sometimes. He would thrive in a home with carpet or rugs. It’s harder for him to move on slippery floors.

Murphy is friendly with new people. Once he gets to know his humans, he is very loyal. He promises to greet you at the door, beg to sit on the couch with you, and stay close to your feet while you are cooking in the kitchen.

Murphy can live with other non-hyper, small, elderly dogs. He would do best with dogs that don’t mind his initial pushiness. Murphy requires a fenced yard so he can get appropriate exercise with his special needs.

Murphy is impeccably house trained. He is up to date on vacations and current on preventatives for flea, tick, and heartworm. He recently lost significant excess weight and had a dental surgery.

Murphy needs to live in an adult- only home. He prefers to live in a calm home environment.

Murphy can be adopted into a home within a two-hour radius of Pittsburgh, PA. If you are interested in giving Rooney a furever home, you must first complete the adoption application at
